About The APL Commission

The purpose of the Library Commission is to act as an advisory board to the City Council, the City Manager, and the Library in all matters pertaining to the establishment and operation of the Austin Public Library.

Library Commission meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 PM except for August and December.

The Library is in need of community leaders with a vision for making Austin a great city! We are seeking new members for the Library Commission, an advisory board to the City Council, the City Manager, and the Library. If you are interested and care about the future of the City, contact the Office of the City Clerk for information on how to apply for a seat on the Library Commission.
